I was hesitating the last time but I will share my thoughts with you now:
The loothed shawls and coats can be colorfull but have a bit too screamy colors now.
These shawls have become details pulling too much attention now.
You need to work them over with several shades or soften the colors I think.
And sometimes you already did but the effect is too weak.
The shawls with multicolor patterns look much more natural because they have no flat chemical colored surface.
Have fun with new Salasteins
Hey Cryns,
Thanks for the constructive criticism: Let me make clear that this is not the final stage and that a last coat of washes/ink will "dirty up" the entire lot tremendously and probably provide the effect you are referring to here.
As for the various bright colours and shabby looks, well, it's all based on iconography and various testimonies/memoirs I have read.
The "circus" look/aspect of the Grande armée on its way out of Moscow, and afterwards Russia, has been well documented.
Anyway, fret not to criticize/question my stuff: it's precisely why I come here. Get the best advice from the best modellers/diorama makers.
I just wish I could speak/read German to really benefit from the massive knowledge provided here, but I'm thankful for the few who bother to write in English for people like me.
So thank you! Mor eto come.
