Now that’s good news! You can put me on the pre-order list for this ship, this model is definitely a must-have for me.
I understand and appreciate your desire to produce a model that reproduces the dimensions and construction details of a real find as accurate as possible.
However, from an archaeological perspective all these ship finds, such as Mainz or Zwammerdam, are of course only tiny random samples from a variety that must have been much larger in antiquity. So, a little artistic license here and there, as they obviously did in the Mainz Museum, is acceptable IMHO. But I agree that of course everything that is presented to the public must have a correct label, indicating which features are based on genuine finds and what was extrapolated or inferred.

Thank you Dirk, StephB and Wolle.
But for putting my country 'on the map' in the scale 1:72 world and for creating interest from museums and educational organisations, the reconstruction of a specific shipfind has my preference.
That sounds perfect.
Yes I fully agree and for the modellers and collectors a universal ship type like this will be fine.StephB hat geschrieben: ↑Fr 24. Thank you Frank.
I use water soluble white glue (ponal), so not the water resistant type that is used for outdoor work.
Its important for me to have the possiblilty to undo my glue work by wetting it. When the semi transparent harened glue absorbs water, its weakened again and becomes white. Then the wooden parts can be taken apart.

Dear Cryns,
what you are showing us again is model making at its finest.
Your models are reduced art works of the originals.
I'm always amazed at the wonderful richness of detail in your work and with how much love your models are recreated.
Please keep up the fantastic work and let us continue to be a part of your research...

You are really incredible! That's no longer model construction, but original construction, just on a small scale.
