I can only repeat myself ...and just agree with all previous speakers …
The figures have very realistic postures and are mega dynamic.
Your models looks soooo realistic.
They are wonderful photographed and staged.
I am absolutely thrilled!!!
That is finest art.

May I respectfully suggest a Mediterranean evening light as a background ?
That would turn my subject in the foreground into a dark silhoutte.
Which can be great as an atmospheric impression but not to show what the boat and figurines look like and I am working on the presentation of my products in the first place at this moment.

But let us say, we make such a sun-going-down background.
Would you use a photographic background? Or a digital insert?
Or create a yellow lightsource and make some subtile clouds in someway?
You have to remember I take all these pictures on a windy balcony of 2 square meters and use glass doors, mirrors and white sheets to reflect the sun from different sides towards my objects.

Hello Mr C and apologies for missing your question.

You make a good point but I was thinking of the rosy light that makes the Mediterranean such a joy.

I used pink tissue to diffuse the light source for the sunset at Ligny.

I seem to remember you spotted the diffused light straight away as usual.

Anyway, your boats are wonderful and reflect your passion.

Best wishes,

Chris

I used pink tissue to diffuse the light source for the sunset at Ligny.
I am usually fighting against any colored light because it deforms the colors of my paintingwork.
But your comments have already influenced me though: I have photographed my 8 oared sailing barge lately with extra light added to the horizon. You can see those pictures here soon.

Now first some pics of my ANCIENT MEDIUM ROWING BOAT, inspired by the reconstruction of a Roman fishingboat. Its colors are adapted from an Etruscan fresco.

I know for sure that these ships and figures will not look that good when I have painted them. But that doesn’t deter me from wanting them: These beautiful models will adorn any diorama, even with a modest paintjob!

Dear StephB thank you so much for your compliments and your interest in my ships .

After 3 years I finally finished my very first resin cast Crynsminiaturen shipmodel from 2017:
The Ancient Eight Oared Sailing Barge with raised sail, crewed with my Ancient Greek Rowers Start of Stroke set and two additional figurines.

That’s the spirit!

These look fantastic and the water sparkle is so realistic I want to get my dive gear on!
