What are the Arab elements of this boat?
I can not see any difference with a 17th century European rowing boat.
But of course Turks and Arabs used European designs.

Why does this boat have a rudder when it has only one rowing bank?
Isn't a rudder only usefull if a boat has two or more rowing banks?
If I think this over, I would say a single rower can decide for himself when and how to change direction.
Only when more rowers have to change direction at the same moment, it will be more easy to use a rudder.

Mr Cryns, the anyalyzer - thank you for your comment, but what you couldn't know, unfortunatley the rowing guy is blind and without the other guy on the rudder he wouldn't know where he is going
