Re: Crynsminiaturen News
Yes Entrauner, I have to confess you are right.
Apart from big sculpted heads, hands and feet, painting the eyewhite and dark pupilles makes them look like dolls or puppets.
And of course makes them look like people from ancient frescoes and vase paintings - but that was never the goal I wanted to achieve, to turn 'primitive art' into 3D sculpting.
I remember Frankzett had something similar to say about me painting eyes.
Next set of figurines I will try to do without and see what the result is.
Thanks for your criticism, I appreciate it very much.
And thanks Wolle for the nice feedback.

Re: Crynsminiaturen Ancient Greek Workers, Sailors and Rowers
Hello Mr C.
These are again superb sculpts in my opinion.
Some of the eyes are indeed a bit pronounced but I had to expand the images to see what the fuss was about.
Eyes are a speciality for the painting experts ( not me) and usually the results can range from the comical to the bizarre.
Our hard working friend ADM has a particularly strange bunch on display as an example.
Personally, with one or two exceptions I think they look fantastic and as a group convey the spirt of the time.
Best wishes,
Chris
