Trimotion

Beitrag von General Picton » So 3. Mär 2019, 21:20

Dear Forum Members,

I've been working on my Waterloo diorama and can now present the building just to the south of La Belle Alliance - Trimotion. I have added two more battalions of the Guard to the two that are in the vicinity of La Belle Alliance. With ancillary troops there are now some 2,000 figures on the two sections of my diorama. You can see more on my blog at http://generalpicton.blogspot.com

Fantastic scene, very impressive!

I don't know the market for Napoloenic figures very well, so I would be curious to learn about the manufacturers you used. A mix of plastic and metal figures, I suppose?

A lot of work, a lot of research - the result: A great diorama! The cornfields I find very interesting! Are they made of teddy fur? I have not seen that in the way yet. Looks good!
Even the buildings look very realistic with the broken roofs.

Best regards

Dear All, many thanks for your kind comments. Yes, the figures are a mix of metal and plastic. Of the four Guard battalions, one is largely Hinton Hunt, one is largely Revell, one is largely Schilling and the fourth is largely Hat. I say largely because there are many others in there too, including Art Miniaturen, Zvezda and Franznap.

It is indeed teddy bear fur - I've various types but this short golden fur is good when given an acrylic wash in green and brown. The buildings are scratch built from card and carefully researched.

A visual feast!

There is so much going on it is difficult to absorb the action.

A tour de force and the carriages are lovely.

I am reminded of scenes from the film war and peace.

Best wishes,

Chris
